Capitol Reef National Park, nestled in the heart of red rock country in south-central Utah, is a hidden gem. This park boasts a diverse landscape, including cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges, all carved by the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline that stretches for nearly 100 miles. While the Fremont River has carved canyons through certain sections of the fold, the majority of the park is characterized by arid desert terrain.
